Idiom in Indonesian 4

1."kali"= time ( showing frequency )

• Berapa kali ? ( How many times ? )
• Saya makan permen itu empat kali ( i have eaten that candy four times )
• Dia mau datang ke sana lain kali ( He/ She wants to come there next time )

2. Ketika, Waktu = Conjunction "When" (  Usually talking about the past or future)

• Waktu saya masuk, dia sedang tidur ( When i came in, she was sleeping )
• Ketika kamu sudah di sana, kamu akan takut ( When you get there, you'll be afraid )
• Ketika saya sudah besar, saya mau jadi pilot ( When i've grown up, i want to become a pilot )

3. Saja = Just/ only

• Buka saja kotak itu ( Just open the box )
• Duduk saja di sini ( Just sit here )
• Tunggu saja di sini ( Just wait here )
• Mereka makan saja ( They only eat )
• Jumlahnya 14 saja (  The total is only 14 )
• Rumahnya dua saja ( He has two house only )

Note : *"Saja" usually is placed after the emphasized/ main word
           * In daily conversation, "Saja" is replaced by "cuma" ( which means "only" )
              for example : -Harganya cuma 1000 rupiah = The price is only 1000 rupiah
                                   -Cuma 6 orang = only 6 persons
