Apa kabar ? = How are you ?
Selamat pagi = Good morning
Selamat siang = ( this is used at day time, it's similar like "konnichiwa" in Japanese )
Selamat sore = Good afternoon
Selamat malam = Good evening
Farewells in Indonesian
Selamat jalan = Good bye ( then the other says "Selamat tinggal" as a reply which also means "good bye"
Selamat berpisah / da-dah = Good bye ( when someone says "da-dah", we also reply by saying "da-dah" too )
Other phrases/ congratulations :
Selamat = Congratulation
Selamat makan = Have a good meal/ Have a good appetite
Selamat beristirahat / tidur = Good night/ Sleep well
Selamat bekerja = Have a good work/ may success be with you
Selamat datang = Welcome
Selamat tahun baru = Happy New Year
Selamat ulang tahun = Happy Birthday
