Comparison of Adjectives and Adverb in Indonesian Language

1. Equality

A. sama.....dengan ( As....As )

• Dia sama pendek dengan ibunya ( She is as short as her mother )

B. se- + adjective ( without "dengan" )

• Mobil itu sebagus mobilku ( That car is as good as my car )

C. Negation form ( tidak se- + adjective )

• Mereka tidak sebagus kita ( They are not as good as we are )

2. Comparative Degree

A. lebih daripada/ dari( more than )

• Kucing ini lebih lucu daripada ( dari ) kucing itu ( This cat is cuter than that cat )
• Buku itu lebih bagus dari punyaku ( That book is better than mine )

B. kurang daripada/ dari ( less than )

• Ruang ini kurang kecil dari yang lain ( This room is less small than the others )
• Dia kurang besar daripada teman-temannya ( He is less big than his friends )

3.Superlative Degree

A. Paling + adjective ( the most )

• Dia memiliki rumah paling besar di daerahnya ( He has the biggest house in his area )

B. ter- + adjectvice ( the most )

• Dia mempunyai mobil terbagus ( He has the best car )
